Irina Gheorghiu and Giulia Acchioni founded ZIM in London in 2020 to end expensive roaming, local SIMs and Wi-Fi hunting. Travellers buy eSIM plans in the app, and businesses use its Business Suite to assign and track eSIMs for their teams across more than 190 destinations.
ZIM partners with Verizon and is backed by BTS Group, which plans to offer a white-label app powered by ZIM to its operators. Clients include Giesecke+Devrient, SBB Switzerland and Allianz.
