Morag Maskey and Jeremy Parr launched XR Therapeutics in July 2020, after research at Newcastle University into making anxiety therapy work better for autistic people. Its sessions combine virtual reality exposure with cognitive behavioural therapy to treat anxiety and phobias, and its Boundless platform, launched in 2024, lets people take part remotely.
Boundless was recognised by the National Innovation Accelerator, and the company rose 57 places on the index to 37th. It plans to work with more NHS trusts and expand into Europe.
