Max Buchan, co-founder and former chief executive of CoinShares, founded Valarian (formerly Worldr) in 2019 after seeing a growing problem with data ownership. Valarian protects sensitive data for enterprises and governments with a zero-trust design that works inside Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp and Slack and keeps data stored where local rules require.
It was on the Startups 100 in 2023 under its earlier name.
