Jules Buker and Godefroy Harito met at London Business School and founded Treeapp in 2023. Users watch a short ad and the revenue pays for a tree to be planted in a vetted project, at no cost to them, with satellite and photo evidence. Harito lived through the 2018 Athens wildfires, and Buker saw how many trees from a one-day planting drive in Turkey died within months.

Treeapp has more than 250,000 downloads and 2,000 business partners, and has planted over six million trees in more than 20 countries. It is profitable and has launched in France.
