TradeKart: building materials delivered within two hours
Alistair McAuley founded TradeKart in 2021. He grew up working in construction and went from a family business to managing director of Dulux (AkzoNobel). TradeKart’s app lets tradespeople get materials from local merchants on demand, delivered within two hours and sometimes in as little as 30 minutes.
By 2022 TradeKart had partnered with 2,000 trade merchant stores covering 80% of the UK population, and it has 165,000 ‘Karters’ making deliveries. It partnered with Uber Direct in 2024 and powers Toolstation Fast Track.
Number 15 on the Startups 100 Index 2026.
