Alex Shapland-Howes, Tatseng Chiam and Huw McLeod founded RideTandem in 2019, after Shapland-Howes met unemployed fathers in Rochdale cut off from jobs by poor transport. The West Midlands company runs commuter services with local taxi, bus and coach firms for people who could not otherwise get to work.

RideTandem has carried more than two million passenger journeys and has worked with Royal Mail and Next. It is a B Corp and aims for ten million journeys by 2034.
