Mindgard is a Lancaster University spin-out founded in 2022 by Peter Garraghan and Steve Street. Garraghan began researching security weaknesses in AI in 2016. Mindgard's platform tests AI systems automatically for attacks, detects threats and prevents data leaks across the software lifecycle.
Mindgard raised a £3m seed round in September 2023 and was named the UK's Most Innovative Cyber SME at Infosecurity Europe.
Number 71 on the Startups 100 Index 2025.
