About
Karolina Löfqvist and Jasmine Tagesson founded Hormona in 2020. Löfqvist started it after years of debilitating symptoms in her twenties ended in a diagnosis of an underactive thyroid and hormone imbalance. Hormona helps women understand and track their hormones at home, with smart tests, daily insights and a community forum.
In the last year Hormona raised £5.5m in seed funding, plus a £100k Innovate UK award. It works with large employers and nutrition brands, partnered with New Balance at the end of 2025, and in 2025 became the first femtech company to test hormones in space, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 mission. Löfqvist won the Startups 100 2026 Exceptional Founder award.
Number 7 on the Startups 100 Index 2026.
