About

Idan Gal-Shohet, David Prior Hope, Premal Gadhia and Bianka Hazel Gonda started Fibe in 2022 as their final-year master's project at Imperial College. Fibe turns potato crop waste into fibres that can be used like regular fabric, and says the process uses 99% less water and produces 82% less CO₂ than cotton.

In 2024 Fibe won the Fashion District Manufacturing Futures Innovation Challenge and the Innovation Award at the PETA Fashion Awards.

Number 41 on the Startups 100 Index 2026.
