Paul Mendieta and Beren Kayali

About

Paul Mendieta founded Deploy Tech in 2020 with Beren Kayali, after a 2019 internship introduced him to concrete-filled fabric. Deploy makes flat-packed concrete water storage that is easy to transport and set up, for disaster relief, construction, wildfire mitigation and emergency response.

Deploy is backed by its partner Concrete Canvas, runs pilots with UNICEF and Oxfam, and helped around 30,000 people after the February 2023 earthquakes in Turkey. It won the Startups 100 2025 Social Impact Award.

Number 47 on the Startups 100 Index 2025.
