About
Xiaoyan Ma, an environmentalist with a background in AI, founded Danu Robotics in 2020. Its H.E.R.O. system uses several robotic arms with computer vision and machine learning to identify and sort mixed recycling in industrial facilities, replacing work she describes as dirty, dangerous and inefficient.
Customers include some of the world's largest waste management companies. Trials with Glasgow City Council led to places on the SOSV HAX and Morgan Stanley Inclusive Ventures Lab accelerators, and it works with Glasgow and Dundee councils.
