Zareen Ali, who is autistic and holds a master's in educational neuroscience, founded Cogs AI in 2021 with Felix de Grey. The app, designed by and for neurodivergent people, helps users build self-care habits and manage overwhelming emotions.
Cogs AI raised £650k from backers including Bethnal Green Ventures and the Francis Crick Institute. Its NHS contract was renewed after an evaluation found it four times more popular than the alternative, with a 30% improvement in mental health outcomes after two weeks.
